The anonymous protagonist of this novel has been expelled from the life of her loved one. Living in a happy and stable relationship with a man, she discovered the true and more complete love of a woman. Without thinking twice, she took a risk and threw herself into a romance that would last for more than a decade. But happiness didn’t let her see that one day the breakup would come and that it wouldn’t just bring loneliness, but also a profound fear. Fear because the person she loves can now turn into her worst enemy. A present fear that reminds her of past fears: exiles, disappearances, violence. Her fears and other people’s fears. Alone, enclosed in her thoughts, she remembers scenes from the past. The happiness of the past doesn’t comfort her: it wounds her with subtlety. The memories hurt, the photos are now pieces of memories. Pieces that she has to pick up and put away in order to move forward.
